Starting from 2020, and until 2025, a new element will appear on the labels of products containing dangerous substances: the Unique Formula Identifier (UFI).
The UFI will be a code that will allow, at European level, the identification of the type and relative quantity of the dangerous substances present in a product or mixture. It will be used by the poison centers of the various European nations to implement the appropriate procedures in emergency situations.
Currently, in Italy, who is responsible for having a database of products containing dangerous substances is the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS), Tecnochimital srl communicates the composition and the dangers of its products to the ISS when they are put in business.
Tecnochimital srl has already started to put in place procedures to adapt to new procedures in view of the 2020 deadline.
